Going to D1 again...in the dark, alternately full of wonder and worry! Since I was a participant in the March-08 HealthQuest, I know what is ahead of me, which makes me worry. Knowing that I get to do this again fills me with wonder.
Every day the battle begins with the alarm clock. After hitting the snooze button twice, I make my bed, turn off the fan and patter to the bathroom. It is a routine that could be done in my sleep. Brush teeth, put on lipstick, shoes in hand, I head out to the car. That is when the wonder comes. The moon, the stars, the quiet of the morning. That is when I see the awesomeness of God and that is when the gratitude, the smile, the heart full of joy begins.
Walking into D1...lights on brightly, women to greet you, inspirational music playing...it is a sight for any eyes. What a wonder. And we get to do this every morning!
The workout begins with my heart anxious again. Will I be able to do what Carter is asking us to do? Can I measure up today? I was the one participant in the last competition that wasn't able to do a sit-up until the last week of competition. Being the slowest at almost everything has some reward...there is a lot of sympathetic cheering, people know your name. But the anxious moments at the beginning of workout are self-doubt moments. Then we begin and it is all right again! It is always do-able...hard, but do-able.
And the best thing about every day is:
1. Seeing all of us do the hard stuff
2. Watching women seriously want to change their lifestyle and wellness habits
3. Knowing that we are all there for each other
4. We do it...every day...we do it
I am so proud to be a part of this team. They seem to have that extra stuff that it takes to make a team win...
We are contenders for the prize!

Hi Renee! Thank you for inviting me to join the HealthQuest! You are such a kind and gentle encourager off the field and an energetic, motivating cheerleader on the field! Hearing your sweet voice cheering me on when I am struggling to push a tire, carry a tire, pull a tire with a sledge hammer really is what helped me finish the task!!! I see what the HealthQuest On The HomeStretch has done for all of the graduates. That is such an inspiration for us "newbies!"
God Bless you, my long-time friend!
Renee, what a great family you have pictured there. You're an inspiration and a true Rooster to have gone before us and still be willing to urge us on (by joining the Quest again!). We missed you today (Tuesday, sometime Pre-dawn).
Renee! thank you so much for your encouraging words! I am so glad we are new friends!
Keep on keepin on!
Alisa
Nay-Nay!

RunRun, I'm so proud of you!!! The Roosters are so blessed to have you as their leader! If they should get out of line just tell them the SGIG's are hanging in the shadows! You're the best! Love ya,
ethel
Renee,
We miss you and pray God's blessings on you and your family as you move along on this journey. Thank you for your gentle spirit and encouraging voice. It's been my blessing to reconnect with you after so many years. Look forward to seeing for power lunches at Blue Coast Burrito!!! Love, Karin
Dear Renee,
I am going to miss not seeing you when I have to come to the early workout! I have so enjoyed reconnecting with you and seeing your smiling encouraging face! Thanks for all you have done for everyone participating in healthquest! It is very much appreciated and you will be missed alot! Fondly, Cristy
Renee, I've said my good bye already, but I know you will do great things, and I wish you continued success on all your journeys. Thank you for all your inspiration and support. And...come back and see us at the end!
With a big hug,
Dorothy
Renee- Wow! I miss you so much! You're beautiful smile and encouraging cheers were so great during those first weeks of the competition. My internal dialogue was "I can't move another inch!", but you were there yelling for me to "do it!", and amazingly, I did it! I'm still pushing forward, but the mornings are a little darker without you! 1/2 Marathon, Renee? Let's do it!;) Cyndi
Renee, the roosters miss you! Congrats on having the courage to take another step of faith.
God is faithful.
